Short Bio:
Cagri Kilic is a Fulbright Scholar from Istanbul, Turkey. He graduated with a B.S degree in Astronautical Engineering at Istanbul Technical University (ITU). During his undergraduate studies, Cagri was team leader of the first Turkish can-sized microsatellite (CanSat) team and owner of MERIT award. In his senior year, he participated in QB50, the international network of CubeSats project as a Short Training Programme student with scholarship for development and deployment strategies for QB50 in the von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics (VKI), Belgium.
Cagri received his M.Sc. degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering from ITU, where he conducted research on orbital mission analyses of CubeSats. He was a graduate researcher of Space Systems Design and Test Laboratory (SSDTL) in ITU. His work at SSDTL was related to trajectory optimization and orbital dynamics simulations for BeEagleSat – QB50 CubeSat. He has experience in a private aerospace company in Turkey as Application/Simulation Specialist and Aerospace Projects Leader.
Cagri is currently working towards a Ph.D. in the WVU Navigation Laboratory as a Graduate Research Assistant with the Christopher Graduate Fellowship. He is currently focus on terrain traversability estimation, LIDAR rolling shutter compensation techniques and GNSS interference detection.
Some activities that he enjoys in his spare time are playing video games, watching soccer, biking, hiking, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.
