Center for the Integration of Composites into Infrastructure
It is a National Science Foundation (NSF) Industry/University
Cooperative Research Center which began operations in July 2009. The
primary objective of the center is to usher applications of
composites in civil and military infrastructures to the next level
through collaborative efforts between West Virginia University,
North Carolina State University, the University of Miami and Texas
A&M University. The focus areas will synergize different fibers
and polymers to create new application areas; thus expanding market
potential.
Mission Statement
The mission of CICI is to accelerate the adoption of polymer
composites and innovated construction material into infrastructure
and transportation applications through collaborative research.
